Outpatient Treatment Program

ABC Inc. received its State license in 1998 to provide outpatient alcohol and other drug treatment services and began providing treatment services. Addison Behavioral Care, Inc.'s substance abuse treatment philosophy is that "Substance abuse is a chronically relapsing disorder" and that substance abusers can benefit from a variety of treatment approaches. We believe in providing extended treatment experiences that are culturally sensitive and gender specific, utilizing strategies which address the individual, her / his family, social support group and peers in the context not only of the program, but in his/her home and community. The program goal is to strengthen the family and support the treatment and re-education of the substance abuser with a sense of social responsibility and empowerment. ABC Inc. provides drug and alcohol assessment, weekly individual counseling, group and family counseling and support services to both adults and adolescents on an outpatient basis. More than 75 % of our Outpatient Treatment clients have involvement with Allegheny County's Children Youth and Families due to child abuse/neglect, youth delinquency or other issues caused by alcohol and other drug abuse.
