Family Empowerment

The Family Empowerment Program (FEP) is a family self-sufficiency and preservation project which focuses on:

  1. Parental and family interaction skills
  2. Self-esteem development
  3. Co-dependency and internalized oppression intervention
  4. Substance abuse treatment readiness, referral and support
  5. Assisting families in establishing or re-establishing a safe environment within the home to prevent the removal of youth from their homes
  6. Goal setting and implementation to decrease substance abuse and gang activity involvement.

FEP includes individual, family and group intervention counseling, which is done primarily in the home. The program also includes activities which are geared specifically to the emotional and practical support of African-American men and women.
